"Cold on the outside, Warm on the Inside"

Saturday, 4 August 2012

Its our 1461days anniversary!
To simplify, today marks our 4 years anniversary!

Oh, how time passed in such a brisk manner! I could still remember vividly the fond memories we went through 4 years before.
From normal friends to someone closer, to who we are today.
Thank you for being who you are and making me who I am today.
I Love You My Dear <3

Deardear had it all planned for today so I am a lucky gal who just sits around and follow according to plan.
The day before, he told me not to eat any breakfast as we are going for Dim Sum.
But today morning, he came fetching me at 11plus and I was like "Dim Sum at this late hour?"
Eventually he drove me to Cathay area and took me to this place called Tao's Restaurant (陶餐厅) where he made reservation for lunch  for the two of us.

Tao's Restaurant
1 Selegie Road, PoMo,
(Formerly known as Paradiz Centre)
#B1-19, Singapore 188306
For Reservations: 6339 8858

The name itself depicts a very chinese form of gourmet it would be and the interior itself is like a combination of designs that makes its relatively simple but unique.
However, not to be misleaded by the name itself, it actually carries a fusion of Western and Asian food which either 6 course or 7 course meal.

This was the menu which we saw at the restaurant and you can have it downloaded from their website too.

Dear's chosen dishes:

  • Bacon & Mushroom Gratin (Standard)
  • Tao's Signature Fruit Salad
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Sirloin Steak with brown mushroom sauce
  • Tiramisu
  • Iced Grape Mallow Tea
My chosen dishes:

  • Bacon & Mushroom Gratin (Standard)
  • Tao's Signature Fruit Salad
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Grilled Spicy Chicken
  • Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
  • Iced Summer Peach Tea
The bacon & mushroom gratin was served immediately after you finished your order, along with toasted bread where it was rather a unique combination given that gratin was more solid form as compared to the normal style of eating bread dipped with soup. And if you think you haven't got enough of the bread, you can actually request to have more. We obviously stopped at the first serving because there are definitely more for you to chew on with the later part of your course.

The signature fruit salad came after this and it was real yummy as well.
The sauce that blended the fruits and lettuce was really awesome, like the taste of honeydew sago =D

And came the cream of mushroom which was what I was kinda pleased with too.
The normal kind of cream of mushroom won't be like what the Tao's served.
Their cream of mushroom was really pure thick and you could even bite on the plenty pieces of mushroom.
To top it up with its uniqueness, the white liquid-like thing you see on top is actually coconut milk.
Surprisingly, the combination makes it real tasty!

Tao's sure lived up to their uniqueness concept with the way they served the drinks.
See?! So gorgeous like you are drinking some afternoon tea and I really love the authentic taste of the teas.

Finally, the main dishes came!
Dear was pleased with his Sirloin steak with mushroom sauce and I think my grilled spicy chicken was not bad either.
They had this crispy Yam as decor that tasted real good too! Hehe.

By then, both of us were already raging full. Haha, but there are always still room for desserts!
Dear had his Tiramisu while I had my chocolate chip ice cream. XD

Bill amounted to about 60plus for both of us but they had 10% discount for UOB card holders and so eventually bill was about SGD55.00 for the two of us (:

Everything planned today was on my boy's expense, Teeheehee!

My boy reading LOVE CARD

I <3 YOU!
After which, we went to the Grand Cathay for our movie date with "Total Recall".
Not too bad for an action movie like this.
And after which, with Metro having storewide sale, we went to the branch at Sengkang where I got the boy a Tempur Pillow since he was complaining that his neck was super uncomfy from his old pillow which he has used for quite some time.

So this is the one that was bought - Contour.

Apparently, I am not a fan of contour pillows but Tempur had it such that it really feels so different from any other contour pillows that I have bought and threw away.
Tempur pillows dont come cheap and so I was contemplating whether to buy one for myself.
Maybe I will someday when my old pillow becomes useless too!
With Metro 20% storewide sale, you can get Tempur Contour pillow at SGD230plus.
He is such a happy boy now! :)

You&Me
Always Happy Together.
And Crazily In Love! <3
