A Trip to Jiangsu (10days)

Woahs, been a tad too long since I last left my footprints here.

So it's time for me to get back on track again and update more often.
Time passed and in a wink, Chinese New Year is over!
Here comes March and my new semester is about to commence and I can't wait for June to come when all my school burden will be over and I will be going for my very own university graduation ceremony on October 2013.
Everything has just passed too fast, far too fast for me to really remember the hectic-ness of every single details.

Awhile back, I went to Jiangsu for my business trip with one my colleague.
It was a cold -4Degree Celsius when we landed at Nanjing Airport.
However, to Singaporeans like us who are so used to the scorching hot weather, we felt more of cooling that freezing cold =D

Some pictures taken during the trip, so let the peektures do the talking for awhile now:

Porn's , Thai Restaurant.

From a customer to a penpal to a friend, I finally got the chance to meet up with my favourite blogshop owner, Reb love (:

We met at Bugis and head to Porn's for dinner!
Just in case you go RARA over the name, it is actually named after our local celebrity, Pornsak, who is a Thai.
And yes, this is a concept of a Thai Restaurant.

Porn's
28 Liang Seah Street, Singapore 189049
Tel: 6337 5535

Was my first visit here but it was Reb's second.
So we ordered something that she has yet to try.

For the two of us, we had Thai Chicken Tom Yum Soup (What is Thai food without Tom Yun Soup right?) ,  Minced Meat with Basil and Thai-styled Tofu.

Overall, I think the food is just so-so.
Nothing much appealing or unique compared to other Thai restaurants but it's definitely worth a first try.

Total Bill amounted to about SGD31.00 for two pax.

After which, we proceeded on to 'Ah Chew Desserts' which was just across the street.
No matter how full we are, there are always room for desserts =D
Reb love got Mango Sago with ice cream while I got the watermelon sago.
I have always loved their Mango Sago and Honeydew Sago and Durian Sago.
Must be wondering, what? All Sago?! Haha, yes, cus the rest of the desserts array belong to that of traditional category  like glutinous rice balls etc which aint my cup of tea.

Hello to the honourable blogshop owner, Reb! :)

Surprisingly, we got so many common topics to talk under the sun.
To be honest, I am very much not someone that sociable who will go around blabbering non-stop if you put me in an enclosed room with just me and a group of strangers.
I am someone who needs time to adapt to the environment and to the people around me and I wouldn't expose my friendliness until I feel comfortable.
Hence, people who don't know me always feel that I am very unapproachable and unfriendly at first sight.
But when you get to know me better, I am actually the exact opposite of what you really thought I was initially.

So I am really glad to have met a new friend here. :)

On a side note, below is my new buy.
It's Urmms...... A tad ugly but.... the ugliness is what makes it adorable isnt it?

My boy couldn't stop saying how ugly it is, so mean right?
But yes, "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder".
Haha, still, if you ask me why I have bought this ugly thing, I would hesitate for awhile and still have no answer for you. LOL!

So here you go, I call this ugly love "Ahlolo" because I wanted to call it Uglo but I suddenly thought of Aglio Olio then I merged Ah with the lo and called it Ahlolo =D

Please meet Ahlolo! * Waves Frantically!*

And gosh, upcoming December will be a hectic month for me.
Then again, since when has EOY been easy right?

Haven't got the chance to upload my photos for my HK trip with daddy and mummy,
Will be right back soon! :)

Get Alive With Weekends!

I think I can only enjoy weekends when I am so done with my life as a student.
Otherwise, weekends will always be spent on projects meetup or doing projects at home, or worst still, revising for tests, quizzes and examinations.
Simply can't wait for May 2013 to come when I will graduate happily ever after.

So many things I have thought of which I wanna do after graduation:
1) Focus of my future career path - do something that I am happy with.
2) Learn Driving - not for anyone but for the sake of yours sincerely, me.
3) Sign up for Yoga Class - don't give a damn as to how inflexible my body is now, I had the crave for yoga for donkey years!
4) Pursue my own business idea - always wanted to do something on my own. Time to crack the brain for juicy creative cells!
5) Attend language classes - you must be thinking, huh, still not done with studying? hehe. life is always about learning, I wanna learn more about Korean, Japanese and the super cool Cantonese.
6) Travel to countries - Shortgetaway and a long-distance trip will be good.
7) Organize more family and friends gathering - which is something that I really look forward to because I wanna spend more time with my loved ones.
8) Plan more about our future - Yes, our future darling :)
9) Go for themed photoshoots - capturing moments when you are young is really important.
10) Go for more fleas! - definitely need more time to sell away the numerous clothes I have.

And watching Michelle Obama's speech on Youtube is indeed super inspiring.
The best part was when she mentioned:
" Success is not about how much money you earned but how u make a difference to people's lives. "

That's so true. So what if you have all the money in the world but you have no friends around or people do not at all recognize you by what you have done in your entire life.

So yes, we are all gonna work hard for the prospect our our future so that as we aged, we aged with experience and satisfaction. :)

On a random note, went for Dim Sum today with Shaun who is leaving us for his overseas study for 3 years.
It's always saddening to send people off, especially when they are people who really matter.

Went Lor 16 126 Dimsum @ Geylang.
It's my first time there and I really like the dimsum there!
We had quite abit of stuff like century egg meat congee, claypot duck congee, siew mai, hak kau, chee cheong fun with prawn & xiao long bao.

Total bill amounted to SGD43.90 for three of us.

Talking about dim sum, I am going to Hong Kong in November with Daddy and Mummy Tay! =D
Can't wait to shop and have my dim sum there!

Dearest, Shaun & Me.

After which, dearest boy and I headed to Takashimaya to hunt for mooncakes!
Bought the four seasons durian mooncake for grandma and she was overjoyed!

Did quite abit of shopping too!
TA DA! My new killer wedges from Charles & Keith that is awesomely pretty! <3

With love <3

And how's me looking with my new moustache? Hehe.

Before I forget, a couple of days back, I received this all the way from Taiwan! Thanks to my taiwan bestie, Glenn for sending this to me via courier, knowing that I am super in love with this mouthless cat.
I do have an identical one from Singapore Macdonalds. But the one from Taiwan is so much prettier as it came with a customized Mac Box!
Singapore Mac, please re-look at your presentation and make it abit more ATAS can?

And not to worry about me, I am very much feeling better from the sidetracks.
In time to go, I always grow stronger. =P
HAPPY WEEKENDS!

Sagittarians

Was doing my individual project assignment and I chanced upon the traits of a sagittarian, which I thought was quite interesting.

Based on the traits depicted by a Sagittarian, I can conclude that I am a pure sagittarian. It's true how the below mentioned traits reveal most of the character of me:

  1. Intelligent: People usually think you're dumb on first sight but once they get to know you, they realised you are intelligent and become fond of your talent. (Erms, I am not super intelligent but I don't think I'm a fool either)
  2. Straightforward: Yes you are very daring (Do not ask a sagittarian how you're looking, they can easily say the truth "I think your dressing is not at all fashionable, or simply you're ugly.") They meant no hard feelings because they are just so direct and straight to the point. They just dislike to be fake. (Oh, this is so true! I just cannot be fake, like means like, hate means hate and I tend to say it or show it on my face straight)
  3. Awfully attractive: Yes! You are always surrounded by many people and you're always the center of attention. You'll always be the stunning star of the evening! (I don't think I'm awfully attractive, just that I can easily befriend and make friends fond of me and have many friends around me all the times)
  4. Careless: Sagittarians are always very careless. You'll often find them searching for their keys, wallet, journals etc. They simply cannot remember where they put their stuffs and end up losing this and that. (This is so true, that is why I talked about losing my precious anklet previously. sigh!)
  5. Responsible: You're a Born Leader! (Not so much of a born leader but I definitely think I'm responsible because be it sch project work or work, I will never shirk responsibility. What is to be done, must be done)
  6. Totally cool: It's hard for you to impress a sagittarian because they simply have their principles and strong character that you just think they are super cool on the outlook. (People say I'm dao on first sight. hahaha!)
  7. Easy-going: You do not need to have any tension when you are with a sagittarian they are just so easy-going and nice. (If you know me well enough, I'm definitely very easy-going and not unapproachable on first sight!)
  8. Adventurer: Doing the impossible is definitely a sagittarian's favourite chore. They love to travel and discover new things. ( Indeed I love to travel and discover new insights and accepts challenges!)
  9. Good sense of humor: Sagittarian just have the flair to make your day with a good laugh. (I can be super crappy at times because my sense of humor is passed down from daddy. LOL)
  10. Decency & Grace: Sagittarians adore people with decent attitudes and when it comes to a selections, they possess good tastes in choosing and suggesting the best. It's their gift to have unique tastes. (Oh yes super true! I hate to mix around with indecent people and so I super dislike people who are just indecent and act like sluts / bitches)
  11. Friendly: Humbleness and politeness is their nature and even though they are friendly, they have a reserved group of social circle. (Definitely true that I have a reserved group of social circle whom I trust )
  12. Independent:Sagittarians do not rely on others and can depend on themselves for the all-year round tasks. They love freedom and hates being tied down by routine-life. (Needless to say, since young, i'm super independent!)
I somehow love being a sagittarian because I am always younger than friends of my age group. Teehee! Birthdays always seemed so faraway for me even though the difference of a year is similar to that of others.

The other day I mentioned that I will jog weekly and I am really determined to do so.
Went for a night jog last night with dearest and felt super refreshed thereafter. Kudos to me for running 2.2km non-stop. It's quite an achievement to me given that I have not trained my stamina for the past few years? So gradually, I am gonna increase the distance and stay healthy! (:

All Ready For the Run!

We Find Happiness.

HIP HIP HOORAY TO WEEKENDS!

Just came home at 10plus due to school and thanks to Aud for always giving me a ride back home.

For the whole of this week, I have had the sleepy and lethargic kind of look painted on my face and it spells it all. I'm extremely exhausted.
Classmates who saw me on first sight said: "Dianna, you okay anot? You looked like you have not slept for the entire week!"

Of cus I don't look like I have those black rings around my eyes and is about to die kind but I just have the super tired face on me that seemed to depict I can no longer find the extra strength to spur on.

So weekends, please be nice to me.
Let me have the ample rest I need and I promised I will look better next week because it's just a four-day work week!

Oh yes, the boy had his wisdom tooth operation at Tan Tock Seng yesterday and I must really looked up to him for being such a brave boy. He had all 4 wisdom tooth removed at one go, as if it's as simple as just removing the cap from the bottle. Hope his fleshy soft gums will heal soon and we can eat food around the world again! Hehe.

The day before his op, we had Teppanyaki for dinner @ Nex and I must say the one at Ang Mo Kio is still so much better. They used to have it at Wisma but it's now in the midst of renovation and we ain't sure if it will still be operating after the refurbishment.

After dinner, we had yogurt! I did mention I wanna try as much yogurt as possible, didn't I?
So the boy and me bought 5 online vouchers from Voucherlicious to enjoy the promotional benefits from Glacious which has a physical store @ Nex Shopping Mall basement.

It costs only SGD3.00 for 7Oz cup plus it comes with a free topping of your choice!
They had flavors like blueberry, strawberry, original etc.
We tried the strawberry-flavored frozen yogurt and I chose Nata De Coco as the topping.

Looking yummylicious right ? It has a unique kind of taste that doesn't make it taste like strawberry at all. To me, it tastes more like plum-flavored? The boy loves it and for me, I still prefer my strawberry-flavored from Sogurt! Teehee!

Wore my Polka dots skirt to work. The other time was Cherry remember? Yes, they were from the same blogshop. The two designs caught my eyes so I couldn't help getting both of my size. Never had to worry about the size for high-waisted skirts because they will definitely fit at the high waist which is supposed to be smaller. At other times for normal skirts at hip, I have to make up my mind as to choose S or M because the size for different skirts vary.

Had my eyebrow trimmed sometime back and is loving how neat it is still looking right now. However, I presume I gotta trim it real soon again! When you signed up for a package, trimming just become so addictive that you will end up not giving the package a definite lifespan.

Opened up my drawer the other day and decided to start using the eyebrow colour from KATE.
Don't used to draw my eyebrows because I'm lucky enough to have voluminous eyebrows that are super black. So I've decided to go for a brown-coloured eyebrow instead. But instead of those common pencil eyebrow liner, I tried the liquid form and really loves the tone of the colour that makes me look fresher!

Also have this eye lashes serum from Heroine Make which I will only use when I put on Mascara so that it will protect the lashes. Don't fancy putting mascaras because it's too troublesome to clean and I think my lashes are healthy and long enough and I don't want to lose the healthy them.
Applying mascara too often will result in frequent lashes loss especially if you don't wash away the mascara properly.
So I only apply mascara once in a blue moon and I thought the serum will come handy!

Looks like it's gonna be a good relaxing night to sleep on tonight!
Goodnight folks and have a nice and fruitful weekend! :)

My Self-Pampering.

Over the weekends, I did quite abit of satisfying self-pampering!

Boyfriend and his dad went to buy the famous Lao Ban Soya Beancurd (老伴豆花)from Maxwell and so I had the fortune of eating one bowl!

It's the best tau huey I have ever eaten because it is super smooth such that you can jus gulp down your throat if you dont feel like biting at all. Teehee!

Super love their old couples logo!

Lao Ban Soya Beancurd (Maxwell Food Centre)
Opening hours: Tue - Sun : 11.30am - 2.00pm

Look at the surface!

Loving the flowery cropped top from Forever 21!

Went to meet the project mates at Raffles Place Coffee Club to collate our slides for the upcoming presentation and as we ended quite early, I made my way to Raffles City for my classic pedicure!

It was at FE The Nail Lounge and they had two outlets , one at the basement and one at the second storey.

The classic pedicure consists of filing, scrubbing, massaging and removal of dead skins.

Say Hello to my freshly painted chilli-padi toes!

I love the brightness of the red! =D

Was making my way from the bustling town back to dearie's place and I was trying so hard to stay a distance from every single person because I won't want them to step on my toes!

Good choice to wear slippers out when you suddenly feel like having a pedicure!

Am also loving how smooth my feet are now because the dead skin has all been removed!

Usual Price of classic pedicure: SGD40.66

It's good to pamper yourself sometimes especially when you have a tired week and feels like a litter in the rubbish dump.

Will be back to share more again.

Shall get my sleep now so I don't have Monday Blues tomorrow.
Goodnight Peeps! <3

No Place Better Than Home.

When you are infested with the lethargic bugs after being sponged out from work and study, all you can ever think of is "No, I'm not very interested to hang out, I wanna go home."

Be it going home to sleep, have a short rest or just sit and daze, there are just no place better than home.

Once again, it's Moan-day (Monday) and all of us should be feeling very dull, trying to fix yourself back into one piece again to get your engine spurred on.

Oh well, yesterday, right before the day ended, I met up with cousin to sign up for some insurance policy which apparently is some basic endowment savings plan that I can retrieve at the age of 55 years old. We are all growing older each day and it's time to lay some path ahead of us just in case anything happen.

Oh did I mention that I bought the Hunger Games storybooks? To be exact, deardear helped me to get it when he was out with his frenz at town someday. Passed by Kinokuniya and he asked if I wanted to get a copy because I was telling him after the movie that I was quite interested in reading the book.

I remembered the very last time when I was super enthusiastic over a book was the time when P.S I Love You was on great hits! And I must say that book was really awesome. I hope this time round, the results will be the same too!

It comes in a series of three and like I mentioned before, the next part will be Catching Fire which seemed to be releasing in the cinemas on November 2012. Dear mentioned that the storyline is gonna be the call-back for all Winners and as expected, Jennifer Lawrence gonna take the throne again!

Still remember some time back, I got these three cutie pies from Artbox for my lovely colleagues at work.
To me, little things like this reveals my appreciation for the people whom I adore.
Kinda upset that I have one lesser to buy now :((
Anyway, cute books like this always make me have the urge to write very neatly on them and turn the pages every now and then even if there are nothing to refer to. Yes, just look at how silly I am! But well, gals always get captivated by cute stuffs, No?

Next up is my ever first trial on Mac products.

Loving how the inner side of the paper bag has their website printed on it and the green tone as well!

I got a $120 Tangs Voucher from my dinner and dance's draw and have yet to use them. So deardear and I decided to patronise Tangs at Vivocity where we splurged the voucher on a Hush Puppies extra light-weight luggage bag, topped up some cash and it was also where the Mac lipgloss caught my eye!

I'm pretty curious why Mac calls it Lipglass. Maybe it's named such that upon applying, it shimmers like glass? But I'm definitely loving how it shines on my lips and the colour tone is just nice for me. Not too mad red and not too dull to make me look like i'm sick or is deprived of blood. LOL.

Was a good day spent with dearie after work today.
Been such a long time since I headed out after work and Tampines feel very much different now.

Will be back soon with more updates.
Heading to dreamland now as I have school tomorrow and gotta report early to work and URGHS, no more nightmares please!
Goodnight my devotees readers! :)

I saw your flaws as your beauty but you saw mine like an integral part of me that stained, like a permanent scar that can never be removed.
